Devastating floods have struck Nepal

More than 1,000 people have lost their lives and over 4,500 are still missing. Around 317,000 people have been affected, and 40,000 have been forced to leave their homes.

The situation is still evolving and rescue efforts are facing enormous challenges. Many roads and bridges have been destroyed or damaged, making it increasingly difficult to reach isolated communities.

As ActionAid Nepal, we have activated our highest level of alert and are coordinating the response with local authorities, humanitarian organisations and partners on the ground.

  • first aid and psychosocial support;
  • protection for children, women, older people and people with disabilities;

ActionAid in Nepal

ActionAid has been working in Nepal since 1982. In emergencies, we work alongside local authorities, humanitarian organisations and local partners to ensure the needs of affected communities are met. We are on the ground distributing essential relief supplies in the Rasuwa area, with a particular focus on people who have been forced to leave their homes due to the floods.
